I. Scope and areas of application

  1. What is AIRNERGY and what is it used for?

AIRNERGY is a Spirovital therapy  (respiratory therapy) and it is inhaled. Amongst other things this therapy is suitable for prevention i.e. maintaining, building up and regenerating cellular functions and generally for increasing performance. AIRNERGY can promote healthy sleep, strengthen the immune system and stimulate self-healing as well as optimising metabolic regulation.

  2. For whom is AIRNERGY suitable?

AIRNERGY is suitable for people of all age groups.
The only exception is healthy children (0 - 14 years of age). Since energy production is at its optimum level in childhood, as opposed to in older adults, it is recommended that Spirovital therapy only be used for children who are ill and after consultation with the treating doctor. Equally AIRNERGY should only be used during pregnancy after consultation with the treating doctor.

  3. How is Airnergy used?

AIRNERGY is inhaled via a lightweight nasal cannula. The applicator (nasal cannula) is 2.1 m long and so can be used whilst moving within this radius, e.g. whilst exercising on a cross-trainer or cardio-trainer, on the treadmill, whilst ironing, sitting at your desk, reading, watching television or simply relaxing, either seated or lying down.

  4. Why are there different AIRNERGY devices?

The different models are adapted to the requirements of the respective target group and it is not just the appearance that is different.
The power of the different models is defined by the number of catalysts (air activating units). Models are available with 2 and 4 catalysts . The more units there are in the device, the greater its energy output.

  5. When is it recommended to use a device with two or four catalysts?

If AIRNERGY is being used primarily for prevention and the user is young and healthy, good results can be obtained with a 2 -catalyst device.
If the aim is a significant increase in performance, the device is to be used for treating a chronic disease or is intended for commercial use, a device with 4 catalysts is the recommended choice.

  6. Does a 2-catalyst device have the same effect as the 4-catalyst device if it is used for twice as long?

No, since energy production in the catalysts is exponential rather than linear, the amount of energy produced by the 4-catalyst device is significantly greater. Using the 2-catalyst device for a longer period is a compromise that can be chosen if the user’s state of health so requires and there is no 4-catalyst device available.

  7. Why isn't there a device with 5 or more catalysts?

We know from studies and from more than 10 years experience that the 4-catalyst arrangement is ideal. Experiments with devices containing 5 – 8 catalysts did not produce any gain in effectiveness.

II. How it works

  1. How does the process work?

The oxygen present in the air is continuously converted in the AIRNERGY breathing device from its natural, lower-energy triplet state into its high-energy singlet state. This is a physiological, active form of oxygen that the body recognises because the body's cells produce this form of oxygen themselves in the course of typical metabolic reactions.
The physical conversion of oxygen from one state to another is made possible by a patented method (with socalled catalysts), that technically replicates the natural process of photosynthesis. The shortlived singlet oxygen reverts back to its basic state, the triplet state, within milliseconds and thereby releases the energy that is liberated from the differential between the triplet and singlet state to the surrounding medium, in this case to water molecules. To guarantee this process the air is led through a bottle filled with water in order to humidify the air before it is taken through the catalysts for the second time. This air that is saturated with energised water is then inhaled.

  2. Is AIRNERY an oxygen concentrator?

No, oxygen is not concentrated in the device nor is any additional oxygen added. Equally the oxygen is not ionised or altered by UV light and ozone is not added.

  3. How is it different from other oxygen therapies?

In previous traditional oxygen therapies oxygen is delivered to the body in many different ways. AIRNERGY does not deliver any additional oxygen or any other substances  and uses the naturally available energy of oxygen. The traditional oxygen therapies support "external respiration” - that is the uptake of oxygen from the lungs into the blood. AIRNERGY, on the other hand, supports "internal respiration" (= cellular respiration) – that is the uptake of oxygen from the blood into the cells.
In the case of chronic lung disease, for example, the administration of concentrated oxygen is an important, and often vital, measure as otherwise much too little oxygen finds its way into the blood from the lungs. The oxygen saturation in the blood can be less than 70 %.
However, if the lungs are healthy and therefore fully functional, they ensure that sufficient oxygen is transported to the cells via the blood. In this case oxygen saturation in the blood is nearly 100 %. Because of this it would be superfluous to administer even more oxygen.
Here is a simple comparison from technology: A poorly calibrated combustion engine creates a lot of harmful emissions, operates at reduced power and has a shorter service life. These problems cannot be solved by putting in more fuel.
Moreover, the body's ability to utilise oxygen optimally is further impaired by increasing age, illness, stress, lack of exercise, poor nutrition and environmental pollution. However, each of the 60 billion cells in the body needs oxygen to produce energy to regulate up to 1000 million chemical reactions per second.
This is where AIRNERGY comes in. Using a patented method that replicates the natural processes of photosynthesis, the oxygen from the air is continuously converted into its highenergy stage (singlet oxygen) – the physiologically active, reactive form of oxygen that the body recognises. This does not involve administering additional, concentrated oxygen, adding ozone or other foreign substances or ionising oxygen. The principle of "Quality rather than quantity" applies.
Put very simply, the result of this is  increased oxygen uptake and enhanced utilisation in the body's cells. AIRNERGY is therefore a causal treatment.

  4. What does water activation mean?

The AIRNERY device alters the water in the glass bottle by the process of oxygen activation, since the water molecules take up the energy that is released during oxygen activation.  When used regularly (internally and externally) this activated water can harmonise disrupted metabolic processes, even those relating to the skin.

III. Effects

  1. How quickly does AIRNERGY work?

The subjective perception of the effects varies from person to person, depending upon age, body weight, individual health status and sensitivity.
As a rule the effects should be noticeable after 5 – 10 treatments.
It is possible to objectively measure a biological effect after only one treatment.
The time needed to experience a positive change in health disorders or illnesses varies and depends upon the individual user.
Rule of thumb: The longer a health disorder or functional disturbance has been present, the longer it takes to balance it out.

  2. What are the potential sideeffects?

Using AIRNERGY does not burden the body with the intake of any foreign substances via respiration and so no serious adverse risks or sideeffects are to be expected.
Spirovital therapy merely stimulates completely natural processes in the body. In isolated cases there may be initial reactions such as tiredness, slight dizziness and restlessness. These symptoms are the result of a direct effect and abate as treatment is continued and they are completely reversible.
If a person is sensitive to the smell of the nasal cannula or cannot tolerate it, it is possible to breathe without the cannula. However, if the nasal cannula is not used, the effect is reduced.

  3. Can AIRNERGY be used during pregnancy?

Since there is as yet insufficient data for pregnant women, AIRNERGY should only be used during pregnancy and the breastfeeding period after consultation with the treating doctor.

  4. Dosing/overdosing: How often can AIRNERGY be used?

In principle it is not possible to overdose on AIRNERGY. It is necessary to try out on an individual basis how long and how frequent treatments should be to achieve the desired objective. As a rule the recommended treatment time of 21 minutes 3 - 4 times a week is sufficient. The optimum is daily usage.
In serious chronic diseases (e.g. chronic lung disease) AIRNERGY should be inhaled 2 – 3 times per day.

  5. Is there such a thing as habituation?

Yes, you get used to Spirovital therapy just like you get used to regular exercise or healthy eating. But the effect remains the same. It is recommended that AIRNERGY be used as a course of treatment, i.e. for example, use it for 3 weeks and then have one week off, to get the best effect.

IV. Operation

  1. Can several people use AIRNERGY at the same time?

No, the device is only designed for one user at a time and only has one outlet nozzle. The airflow out of this nozzle is designed for the needs of one person. Of course, any number of people can use AIRNERGY consecutively.

  2. What kind of water is suitable for use in the bottle?

Clean, still drinking water with a low mineral content should be put into the bottle. The optimum is water purified by reverse osmosis. An alternative is bottled, still, lowmineral water such as e.g. Volvic, Evian etc.
Please NEVER use carbonated water or tap water containing chlorine or with a high lime content. You can obtain information about the quality of your drinking water from your water utility.

  3. How often should the air filter be changed?

After 50 hours of operation the “Change filter" message will appear on the device’s display. When this happens please change the filter on the back of the device and then simultaneously hold down the combination of the "Plus", "Minus" and "Stop" buttons. The message "Filter has been changed" will then appear on the display. The number of operating hours will then be zeroed and after a further 50 hours of operation the “Change filter" message will appear once again.

  4. How long can the nasal cannula be used for?

The nasal cannula can be used many times but only ever by one person. Depending upon the frequency of treatments, it is recommended that the nasal cannula be replaced every 1 – 3 months.
However, should you contract a respiratory infection (cold, cough, sore throat), please replace your nasal cannula once the infection has passed in order to prevent reinfection. If required, the tubes can also be sterilised in boiling water or in a feeding bottle steriliser.
Tip: Leave a new nasal cannula to ventilate for a few minutes before using it by attaching it to the device and letting the device run without putting the cannula on. In this way you will avoid breathing in the rubber smell, which some find unpleasant.

  5. How do you clean the glass bottle?

The glass bottle can be cleaned by hand using normal washingup liquid and a brush or at high temperature in the dishwasher.

  6. How do you remove limescale from the sparkling element and the glass bottle?

Despite using lowmineral water, the holes in the head of the sparkling element and the inside of the glass bottle can fur up with limescale. These residues can be removed with dilute citric or acetic acid.
Fill the glass bottle to a maximum of half full with a mixture of 50 % water and 50 % citric or acetic acid (available in the supermarket or chemists) and put the sparkling element inside. Leave this solution to act overnight and then rinse carefully with plenty of clean water. Make sure that no water gets into the tubes of the sparkling element.

  7. What do you need to look out for when the device hasn’t been used for a while?

If the device hasn't been used for a while, the water should be emptied out of the bottle and the sparkling element dried with an absorbent paper towel (kitchen roll). To do this put the sparkling element down on the paper towel so that the water remaining in the sparkling head of the element runs onto the paper towel where it can be absorbed. Once the sparkling element is dry, it can be put back into the empty, dry water bottle.

  8. How often should the device be serviced?

The device does not need to be serviced very often because it constantly selfchecks by means of intelligent software.
Therapists and commercial providers usually take out the option of an annual service. It is recommended that you wipe the casing down with a damp cloth every now and then, clean the bottle and sparkling element regularly and change the bacterial filter after every 50 hours of operation.
In principle a Service2000 is due after 2000 hours of operation (depending upon the device this corresponds to 3000 – 6000 uses). The message "Service" will then appear on the device’s display. During this service the device is opened and cleaned, all of the activating units are taken apart and reassembled and fatigue tested.

  9. Why are the intensity stages adjustable?

In very weak, sick or oversensitive patients and in cancer patients it is necessary for their weakened organism to get used to the new energy situation gradually. This can be achieved by gradually increasing the treatment time in steps (starting with a treatment time of 5 minutes) and gradually increasing the intensity (from 50% to 75% and then to 100%).

The statutory health insurance companies do not yet pay for treatment. In the case of private health insurance companies, whether or not they will bear the costs depends upon the status of the policyholder and the individual case. However, it is always worth applying to have the costs met in cooperation with the treating doctor.

  5. What are the costs of consumables/ongoing costs?

The cost of using Spirovital therapy is very low and consists solely of costs for drinking water, electricity, nasal cannulae and changing the air and bacterial filters every 50 hours of operation.
Depending upon the model, 2 air filters and at least 10 nasal cannulae are included with the device on purchase.

VI. Questions relating to medical science

  1. Are there any scientific studies relating to AIRNERGY?

Yes, there are several convincing studies and qualified patient follow-ups as well as numerous reports of experiences from several million applications, which provide proof of the effectiveness of Spirovital therapy.
The recently published AIRNERGY Compendium  summarises the most important of these scientific principles and thus provides evidence of the effectiveness of AIRNERGY.
